When Akihiko Kayaba revealed his true intents for the game Sword Art Online (SAO) on its grand opening day, Asuna was one of the 10,000 players trapped within the game, meeting the player Kirito in the early stages and forming a temporary party with him. After two years of game play, Asuna and Kirito eventually form a party again and form a strong bond with one another, both determined to ultimately beat Kayaba’s game and one day, finding one another again, this time, in the real world.

Does using a credit card count towards making a costume? Haha, naw, I did do two things for this costume. One was the shoe covers and the con/event version of her sword. Really, really simple covers over sneakers. After we did this shoot, her sword unfortunately… ended up… breaking… horribly… and it wasn’t my fault. I bought a real steel version of her sword, but I can’t take that into events obviously, so I still need to remake the old con-worth sword. >.< In any case though, I really had like, no time to make this one and my Kirito was ordering her outfit so…. it was just easier to order together, lol. I was really happy with the purchase though – normally I’m not a fan of purchasing cosplays because they just don’t tend to fit right or they look poorly made, but this supplier was really good (come to think of it, I should really ask Kirito-kun where we ordered from, haha – I only know it was a Chinese supplier). In a way though, it was nice because I could focus more on the make up versus all the details of the fabrics and outfit itself. So with all that said, anyway, hope you like it! ^_^
"Life isn’t just doing things for yourself. It’s possible to live in such a way that other people’s happiness makes you happy too."
Despite the many renditions Asuna has gone through, I still love that quintessential kind-hearted nature that we see in her. It goes back to the very first time we ever saw Sword Art Online grace us with the first arc of the many adventures they go on. More than that though, I love the fact that Kirito and Asuna very much so embody a dedication to one another. One so pure and so genuine. So despite all the heat this series may get at times, I still enjoy cosplaying from it. Because when I do, I’m reminded of how that first spark of true love can feel… Not to mention it’s so fun to bring such a series to life with friends. Much love to you all!
