A new costume stat page for the new year!!

The latest stat page features one of my favorite characters from my favorite series of all time – Starfire from Cartoon Network’s “Teen Titans“! (And I hope you can all forgive me for that quote. I just still find it amusing. ^^; )

Goodness knows if you’ve followed my work for a while, you know that “Teen Titans” holds a particularly special place in my heart. It was a show that helped me through a very difficult time in my life. It gave me stories to lean on and dive into when my own life felt unbearable.

Each of the characters meant something to me too. Starfire was one in particular that I grew to adore over time. While in High School, Robin helped me battle my own emotional demons. When I graduated from college and moved abroad, Starfire helped me have the courage to live in a foreign land. In particular, she helped me believe in the importance of shining in your own way, no matter where you are.

Upon my first trip to San Diego Comic Con, I decided I wanted to try my hand at creating a Starfire cosplay. The result was my Starfire (2009) version of her. For only my third cosplay thus far, I am still super happy with how it came out. But I’m also happy because I feel like it goes to show how much you can grow in a craft too. Because I’ve done A LOT of growing since then (Pst! I recently remade her and will build another page for the revamp soon!)

Anyway, I love cosplaying as Starfire. She’s kinda unassuming, but is a wonderful example of accepting and loving who you are, no matter what. For those reasons, I hope you enjoy my cosplay of Starfire (2009) !! ^_^
